Entry Requirements

Trainers prefer you to be 18 years old (or close to) as you are required to be 18 to work within this Industry.

Able to get a Working with Children’s check and Police Check.


This qualification is made up of 15 core units and 3 electives and is undertaken in class.

In Class you get the support of your Trainer, group discussions with fellow students, units worked through and the chance to make study groups. Looking to finish your course within 12 months.
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. Students will learn to support the implementation of an approved leaning framework, and support children’s well-being, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously in a range of child care facilities such as full day care centres, occasional care facilities, creches and early learning centres as an Early Childhood Educator.

Work placement is compulsory

Pathways from the Qualification

Upon completion of Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care, students can undertake Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

• Mobile Childcare Assistant or Educator

• Nanny

• Anyone wishing to build a career in child care
