Entry Requirements

Must be working in the Industry or have had extended vocational experience within the Industry.


This qualification is delivers via ‘flexible learning’ from home, Students will complete 21 workbooks comprised of 9 core units and 12 elective units.

Working from home means you can go at your own pace and will enable your studies to fit in well with your other commitments. We do ask that Students make themselves available to catch up with Trainers Fortnightly to assess their progress.

This qualification reflects the role of skilled operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with sound knowledge of industry operations. They operate independently or with limited guidance from others and use discretion to solve non-routine problems. Many individuals have supervisory responsibilities and plan, monitor and evaluate the work of team members.

Pathways from the Qualification

After achieving SIT40416 Certificate IV in Hospitality, individuals could progress to SIT50416 Diploma of Hospitality Management, or to Diploma qualifications in any service industry field.

CCAE does not offer the above qualifications.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a team leader or supervisor in hospitality organisations such as restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops.
