Fees

25% deposit of course fees payable upon enrolment. A fortnightly payment plan will be calculated. Fortnightly payments are required to remain enrolled in this course.

Entry requirements

To gain entry into CHC52115 Diploma of Community Development students are preferred to have/had industry experience or a Community Services based qualification at Certificate IV level.

Trainers also recommend computer skills, time management skills and the ability to independently research.

Description

This program is delivered on Saturday once a month from 9.00am – 2.00pm over a duration of 2 years. The trainer is available for students on Fridays 9.00am – 1.00pm by phone/email/face-to face or outside of these times by appointment.

This Qualification is comprised of 8 core units and 6 electives, these 14 units of competency have been organised into face-to-face delivery, with study time and research allocated in between.

The Australian Institute of Welfare and Community Workers Inc. requires at least 100 hours of practical field placement which can be flexible around the student.

This qualification reflects the roles of community services workers who manage the development and delivery of programs that build capacity of communities to influence and guide their own future through public change processes.

At this level, workers have specialised skills with complexity in the range and choices of actions required. Workers will generally have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers.

This work may be undertaken through organisations working across a range of social, environment, health, economics, arts and culture, recreation sectors.
